Video games: the language of modern youth

Keith Feinstein, Creative Director of Eureka Exhibits, explains the development of Be the Astronaut in the Waco Tribune , noting how “video games are the language of modern youth”, making them a perfect way to simulate spaceflight — while teaching core concepts of math, physics, astronomy and more.

Rebecca Nall of the Mayborn Museum notes in this news story:

As an informal science center, we want to encourage our next budding scientists and hope that we’re inspiring a future career – maybe in space flight or in science of some kind.

In May 2019 the Mayborn Museum featured a delightful “Cosmic Canvas Contest” on Facebook and Instagram to launch Be the Astronaut.
